MMO Tubular Anodes

MMO Tubular Anodes have excellent performance characteristics, they can be used in extreme environments such as high acidity and in the presence of Chlorine or Oxygen and exhibit very little wear, minimal dissolution of the metal oxide coating or any dimensional change throughout their life expectancy. At Jennings Anodes, our MMO coating application is achieved semi-automatically enabling full control of choice of metal oxides, coating uniformity and thickness. 
     

Applications

MMO Tubular Anodes consist of a pure titanium tubular substrate (ASTM B348 Grade I/II) of high tensile strength coated by an electrocatalytic film of noble metal oxides. The Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) coating film activates the Titanium allowing the combined product to act as a very effective Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) anode with a very low consumption rate (0.5-1.0mg/Amp-yr) in a wide variety of applications.

The MMO Coating can be adjusted to suit the required current density, life expectancy and working environment of the Anode. 

In brackish water, seawater or in concrete Iridium Ruthenium (Ir-Ru) Coating is more suited. A current density of 600Amps/m2 is recommended. In soil, carbon backfill or fresh water environment Iridium Tantalum (Ir-Ta) is more suited. A current density of 100Amps/m2 is recommended.
