MMO Ribbon Anode
This MMO ribbon anode is highly conductive whilst maintaining a low consumption rate, providing effective protection for 50 years or more. It is composed of titanium ribbon substrate coated with a Ir-Ta mixed metal oxide catalyst.
Our MMO ribbon anode is manufactured using a bespoke automated production line which ensures meticulous titanium substrate preparation and a homogeneous coating application with superior adhesion properties. The current production capacity is up to one million meters per year.
MMO ribbon anodes are used for cathodic protection applications where there is a high current demand in limited space. It can be directly buried into fine sand without any need for carbon backfill. Our mixed metal oxide ribbon anodes are suitable for use on both newly constructed above ground storage tanks with secondary containment liners, and existing tanks utilizing a double-bottom construction.
Titanium conductor bars are usually used in conjunction with the MMO ribbon anode, acting as an inert conductor to evenly distribute the CP current throughout the system. MMO ribbon is often spot welded to the titanium conductor bar at the point of crossover, forming a grid arrangement, reducing attenuation losses. The anode is then connected to the positive cable through mechanical rod connectors.

Description
Description
Quality Substrate Material
The titanium substrate of the anode is selected according to ASTM B265 Grade 1 standard requirements.
Excellent Resistance in Acidic Medium
Ir-Ta catalyzed coating on the surface creates a low resistance for improved anode performances. They can be used in sand with various levels of moisture and salt content without any carbon filling materials required.
Dimensional Stability
Because the titanium substrate is naturally passivated by an oxidizing film, the ribbon anode remains dimensionally stable over time. Direct current transfer is accomplished through the mixed metal oxide catalyst which is highly conductive, and fully oxidized so that higher current outputs are achievable.
