Anodes for Cathodic Protection of Storage Tank
One of the problems in the oil and gas industry is the corrosion of the aboveground tanks external bottom. The cathodic protection is used as a complementary method to prevent this type of corrosion. The tank external bottom cathodic protection is accomplished in two ways: sacrificial anode and impressed current anode. Mixed metal oxide (MMO) anodes are widely used as the basic material in impressed current cathodic protection method depending on the required current rate and design life.
